We are God’s masterpiece

image“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

I was having a conversation with my son this morning and I said something along the lines of “oh this messy hair, and look at these dark circles yuck” and his response surprised me. He said “I don’t see that Mom, you shouldn’t either!” And that got me thinking how many times we can put ourselves down. Whether it be our looks, or not feeling good enough for what God has called us to do, or just in general. We can sometimes feel not worthy of love, or happiness. We dwell on what we’ve done or where we are sometimes instead of seeing how far God has brought us.

Do you ever wonder what God thinks when He created us in His image and here we are putting ourselves down? I honestly don’t think we can begin to imagine how He feels for us. We are not our past, we are not our circumstances and the moment we gave our lives to Him, we were transformed. All was made new and no matter how things look right now, or how bad things may seem, you are amazing!

Even in this very moment, just know you have a purpose, you are chosen and God has amazing plans for you. It’s never too late. When you look at yourself, know you are worthy and you are a light in this world!

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” – 2 Corinthians 3:18
