The Word Is A Holy Arsenal

The Word of God is an arsenal to help us stay on the narrow path that leads to life. Several different verses in the Bible tell us different ways it can be used just like there are different tools for different jobs.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105

God’s Word is a guide to everyday living, it is a light in the darkness of this world. It guides us by teaching us how to follow Jesus and it lets us know what is sinful and needs to be avoided.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

The Bible is also a sword, it cuts and pierces and helps us examine ourselves and discern our hearts, also it exposes false doctrines and false teachers and helps us divide ourselves from those that are not walking in or seeking the truth but are stuck in their vain traditions and unbelief.

“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” Jeremiah 23:29

The Word of God has the force of fire and a hammer. The Word of God is more powerful than any man made doctrine and is all that is needed to destroy cult like religious traditions that keep many in bondage. The reason so many fall for the false religions is because their arsenal is empty and they are ignorant of the Word of God.

“102 I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. 103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” Psalms 119:102-104

God’s Word is sweet like honey. It gives us joy to know what God thinks about things and to love what God loves and hate what He hates. It is a sweet and comforting feeling to know that if we base our feelings off of God’s Word we are always in the right. What a loving God we serve that He makes sure we are so well equipped by His Word that we can be protected from false religions and be guided to live a life of holiness and assurance.
