The Biblical Way To Honor Mary

The Mary of the Bible was a humble handmaid of the Lord. Unfortunately there are false beliefs out there that revere her to God-like status. Some people even pray to her or seek her intercession. Nowhere in the Bible does it say this is okay regardless of what the wicked pope says or does. In fact, this is a form of idolatry. If Mary has the ability to hear the prayers of every person in the world at the same time it would make her omnipresent which is a trait only of God.       marydolatry2

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5

Nowhere in the Bible does Mary claim to be the “Queen of Heaven” in fact the only time “Queen of Heaven” is mentioned it is speaking about something that angers God:

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.” Jeremiah 7:18

There was a woman that praised Mary right in front of Jesus and He corrected her:

“27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:27-28

Mary was one of the best examples of faith and trust in the Lord we have ever had who rejoiced in God her savior. Mary gave one command in the Bible and to properly honor Mary we should obey her one command:

His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5

Mary did not command anyone to pray to her, to pray “the rosary”, or to make graven images of her, she commanded the people to obey Jesus. Jesus tells us:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
