Life Is A Vapor

Our lives are a very short stretch of time compared to eternity, even if someone lives to be 100 that is nothing compared to eternity. If a man picked up a grain of sand and took one step every 10,000 years until he walked all the way to Mount Everest and set the grain of sand on top of it and then repeated with every grain of sand on the entire earth eternity will still just be beginning by the time he finishes.

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14

Life is a blessing and there are responsibilities and duties to fulfill to live in this world. But too many people spend all their time worrying about this life and measure their success on worldly possessions having no time to worry about Jesus or where they will spend eternity.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” 1 Timothy 6:7

Jesus tells us where we should focus on storing our treasures instead:

“19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

We are not guaranteed another heartbeat in this life. Just think, since the time that you started reading this hundreds of people in the world have died (105 each minute). How many of them were putting off “getting right with God” because they were too busy chasing after worldly riches, pleasures and sin? None of that matters now, but where they stand with God is everything.

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” 2 Corinthians 6:2

Now is the time to repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of your soul, you may not wake up tomarrow morning to have another chance.
