Grace Changes Us

The Bible says we are saved by grace through faith:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8

The Bible tells us exactly what this saving grace of God is:

“11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:11-12

We are not saved by our works, it is by grace through faith. Obeying God is not a work. Works based salvation is believing that you can keep doing good works and earn your way to Heaven without the Blood of Jesus. When we are walking in the Spirit and obeying Jesus in true faith the good works come with it:

“22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Galatians 5:22-24

When we are not following Jesus and walking in the flesh these works will also be evident and can take us to Hell, although we are not saved by our works we certainly can be damned by them:

“19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21

When we follow Jesus we are not in the darkness of sin anymore but walking in light.

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

If you claim to be a Christian but are still practicing sin then you need to seek Jesus and get saved from any bondage that you are in and by His Grace you can be set free.
